Position: Scheduler

Reports to: Scheduling Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Scheduling

Location/Shift: Burlingame, CA / Day

 

Essential Function

The scheduler is responsible for scheduling work through all departments throughout the company. Must communicate with the production floor in regard to the current status and projected schedule of all jobs. Does this via verbal and email communications, as well as the upkeep of the Scheduling System. Works closely with the scheduling manager to ensure that all jobs are on time throughout production.

 

Job Duties and General Expectations

  • * Clear understanding of leeways, individual equipment speeds and capabilities.
  • * Understanding and managing equipment bottlenecks.
  • * Review each job as it is imported into the schedule throughout the day.
  • * Alert sales when scheduling conflicts arise or due dates are not achievable at the job entry.
  • * Add OT or Rush Change Orders as needed.
  • * Preside over daily production meetings with all department managers.
  • * Schedule pre production meetings as needed to review launches, complex or multi component kit jobs, with the appropriate people.

Qualifications

  • Must have 2-5 years managing or scheduling experience with a printing company.

Preferred Skills

  • Must have great problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy is mandatory as work will be within many computer systems to gather information and communicate with others.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, File maker and Excel experience a must.
  • Programming or automation skills a plus.
